Q. When is the best time to visit?

A. Anytime is a good time for a Maui vacation. The average temperature is 75-85 F. To avoid crowds and enjoy lower rates, plan your travel between mid-April and mid-June or from September through mid-December.

Q. Why should I book a condo instead of a hotel room?

A. Condos are typically larger in size than hotel rooms. They feature a full kitchen, living room, bedroom(s) and one or two bathrooms. You can watch TV in the living room without disturbing those who want to sleep in. Make breakfast in the morning and enjoy a meal or sunset cocktail on your lanai in the evening. Our condos are also equipped with an in room clothes washer and dryer for your convenience.

Q. What's the difference between "oceanfront" and "ocean view" properties? What does "beachfront" mean?

A. "Oceanfront" means that the property faces the ocean directly giving you the best view possible. "Ocean view" means that you can technically see the ocean from the property, but your room or condo may be far back and your view of the ocean is partial or at an angle and could be obstructed. "Beachfront" means that the property is on or near a sandy beach beach. All three of our condos are oceanfront with panoramic floor-to-ceiling front-on ocean views from the living room, bedroom and lanai. All three of our condos are also beachfront, located on Kaanapali Beach, with direct access to the beach.

Q. What airport should I fly into?

A. We advise you to fly directly into Kahului airport (OGG) on Maui as it will save you a two-hour layover in Honolulu and a connecting flight (30 minutes).

 

Q. Should I rent a car?

A. We recommend renting a car because it gives you so much more flexibility to explore the island. 

 

That said, you can get around without a car. Grocery stores, small shops and restaurants are only a short stroll away from the Mahana.

 

If you prefer not to rent a car, Executive Transportation or SpeediShuttle provide shared rides and airport transfers to and from the airport. For local transportation, taxis and Uber are readily available or you can take the Maui Bus from the end of our driveway.

Q. Is there a parking fee?

A. No, parking at the Mahana is free and close to your building.

Q. What are check-in and check-out times?

A. Check-in is 3 pm. Check-out is 11 am..

Q. Will I have Internet access?

A. Yes. We provide free high speed secure wireless Internet access in all of our condos. Wireless is also available in the lobby area.​

​

Q. Is there a resort fee?

​A. There is no resort or amenity fee if you book directly with the owner.

​

Q. Is there a daily housekeeping service?

A. No.There is no daily housekeeping or maid service. Your condo is thoroughly cleaned and new linens and towels provided for you before you arrive. If you require an extra housekeeping service, e.g for a long stay, this can be accommodated for an extra charge.

Q. What to pack?

A. Pack light. Maui is a tropical island. Sunglasses and sandals are a good idea. Dress is informal. The condo is set up with everything you need in terms of linens, blankets, towels, utensils and cookware.  We also provide beach towels, beach chairs, a hairdryer and starter soap and paper products.  Other amenities are listed on our website.

Q. When is the Humpback Whale Season?

A. As many as 10,000 whales come to Maui waters to mate and give birth in the winter. You will see many of them from your window and lanai from mid-December to mid-May. You can also take whale excursions from Lahaina.​​

 

Q. What supplies are included in the rental?

A. Your condo is equipped with a starter supply of paper towels, hand soap, dishwasher and washing machine detergents, tissues, toilet paper, shampoo and conditioner. You may need to replenish these supplies during your stay. We also provide beach chairs, beach towels, a beach umbrella a cooler, and you may also find water sport equipment.

Q. Can I smoke in the condo or on the lanai?

A. No. Smoking is not allowed in any of our condos or on the lanai.  A smoking area with a table and chairs is provided outside on the parking side of the Lanai building. 

​

Q. Does the Mahana provide round the clock security?

A. Yes, the Mahana has 24 hour security.
